Pulse Power, LLC, which this summer submitted an application for a Texas retail electric provider certificate, filed on November 29 a motion to intervene in the Texas PUC docket concerning the application of Lone Star Energy Solutions, LLC for an electric aggregator certificate

As first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, Pulse Power, LLC applied for its REP certificate on August 30 and, in such application, sought to use the trade name Lone Star Energy, as well as the trade names Energy to Go, PowerNext, and New Power Texas. Pulse Power's application remains pending before the PUC

Lone Star Energy Solutions' application, filed in November, was also first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com

"Because the names 'Lone Star Energy' and 'Lone Star Energy Solutions' are so similar, this has the potential to cause customer confusion in the marketplace as well as negatively impact Pulse Power, LLC," Pulse Power, LLC said in its motion to intervene.

Pulse Power's motion to intervene was stamped as received by the PUC at 2:39 pm on Nov. 29

On Nov. 29, with a time stamp of 3:31 pm for the receipt by the PUC's filing clerk, the PUC issued a notice of approval granting Lone Star Energy Solutions LLC an electric aggregator certificate to serve C&I customers. PUC Staff, on November 27 (prior to Pulse Power's Nov. 29 motion to intervene), had recommended approval of the application
