Pennsylvania saw a decline in the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply during December 2018 that was consistent with the declines recorded in recent months

From late November 2018 to late December 2018 (reporting date varies slightly by utility), Pennsylvania saw the statewide number of residential electric customers on competitive supply decrease by nearly 8,200 customers. That compares to a decline of 7,200 from late October to late November, and a decline of 8,500 from late September to late October.

All of the seven large EDCs saw a net decline in the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply from late November 2018 to late December 2018. Duquesne Light had been the only large EDC that had seen marginal gains in residential electric migration during October and November, but saw the trend end, and recorded a net decline in December

The change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply at each large utility from late November 2018 to late December 2018 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) was:

Duquesne Light (394)
Met-Ed (878)
PECO (3,039)
Penelec (493)
Penn Power (143)
PPL (2,814)
West Penn Power (412)

For comparison, the change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply at each large utility from late October 2018 to late November 2018 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) was:

Duquesne Light 327
Met-Ed (1,056)
PECO (2,507)
Penelec (1,039)
Penn Power (160)
PPL (2,305)
West Penn Power (487)
