Direct Energy Launches Plan With Most Free Hours of Electricity in Texas

Direct Energy today announced a new residential electric plan in Texas which Direct said offers Texans the most free hours of electricity in the state.

Under Direct's new Twelve-Hour Power 12 free nights electricity plan, energy usage is free from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. (12 hours of free energy daily, or half the day)

In the Oncor service area, Direct Energy's Twelve Hour Power 12 - Fixed plan is a 12-month fixed plan with an average all-in rate at 1,000 kWh usage of 12.5¢ per kWh. This reflects an energy charge of 16.9¢/kWh from 9:00 AM to 8:59 PM daily and a 0¢/kWh energy charge for all other hours, a base charge of $9.95, and Oncor Delivery Charges of $3.42 per month and 3.692¢ per kWh, with all delivery charges prorated such that the customer will not be billed for any TDU delivery charges during the designated free period

A $135 early termination fee applies

Direct Energy’s Twelve-Hour Power 12’s most free hours electricity claim is as of January 21, 2019, when compared to other retail electricity providers’ offers listed on the powertochoose.org website.
