Most FirstEnergy Pennsylvania Commercial Prices To Compare Falling Effective March 1

PTCs Decreasing By Up To 10%

The FirstEnergy Pennsylvania utilities have filed new tariffed commercial PTCDefault rates with the PUC for the three-month period starting March 1, 2019

The PTCDefault rates are the all-in default service rates without the application of the State Tax Adjustment Surcharge (essentially, the PTC prior to application of the STAS), which is currently 0%.

At Met-Ed, the tariffed commercial PTCDefault rate will be 6.483¢/kWh effective March 1, a 10% decrease versus the current 7.236¢/kWh

At Penelec, the tariffed commercial PTCDefault rate will be 6.571¢/kWh effective March 1, a 1% decrease from the current 6.654¢/kWh

At Penn Power, the commercial PTCDefault rate will be 8.066¢/kWh effective March 1, a 3% increase versus the current 7.807¢/kWh

At West Penn Power, the commercial PTCDefault rate will be 6.344¢/kWh effective March 1, a 9% decrease versus the current 6.962¢/kWh

The new PTCs are to be in effect for the period March 1, 2019 to May 31, 2019

Official Prices to Compare have not yet been posted

Residential PTCDefault rates for March 1 had already been filed by the FirstEnergy EDCs and were first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com (see story here). At most of the FirstEnergy-PA EDCs, the March 1 residential PTCDefault rates are increasing up to 17%
