Texas Bill Would Require End To Retail Electric Offer Listings On PUC's Power to Choose Site

A bill (H.B. No. 1408) has been filed with the Texas legislature which would require the termination of the listing of retail electric offers on the state's Power to Choose website

H.B. No. 1408 specifically states, "The commission may not operate or contract with another person to operate a website that lists retail electric service plans or providers for the purpose of enabling or assisting a customer's selection of a retail electric service plan or provider."

If adopted, the bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
