Marathon Energy announced that Eric Hansen has been named the company's Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately.

Hansen has nearly 20 years of experience in the deregulated energy industry.

Prior to joining Marathon Energy, Hansen served as the Executive Vice President of Electric Operations at Great Eastern Energy after spending 8 years at U.S. Gas & Electric (USG&E) where he oversaw the supply and pricing teams of the company

Hansen joined USG&E following a 5-year career at Gateway Energy Services Company where he initially served as a Vice President of Electricity and Gas Supply. During his time at both USG&E and Gateway, Hansen served on the executive team and successfully worked as a key stakeholder in the strategic M&A dispositions of both entities.

Hansen began his career in the energy industry at AES NewEnergy in 2000 on its portfolio management desk. NewEnergy was acquired by Constellation in 2002, where Hansen served as a Director of Structured Products and Market Analytics.
