Pennsylvania once again saw the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply decline by nearly 10,000 over the past month, according to the latest stats from the Pennsylvania PUC

From late January to late February (reporting date varies slightly by utility), Pennsylvania saw the aggregate number of residential customers on competitive supply decline by 9,700 accounts, consistent with the net decline of 10,300 accounts from late December to late January.

All of the seven large EDCs saw a net decline in residential migration from late January to late February. UGI saw the number of 'residential' accounts increase by 35 from late January to late February (following growth of 54 from late December to late January). UGI 'residential' migrated accounts now stands at 526; the migration data does not specify if these are incidental residential accounts

Note that for comparing the end of February totals with the end of January, for the January 2019 stats posted by the PUC, Duquesne Light had an updated date listed, but its number of residential accounts on competitive supply was identical to the December 2018 total -- 160,210 (for all classes, the January 2019 Duquesne Light shopping counts were identical)

The change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply at each large utility from late January 2019 to late February 2019 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) was:

Duquesne Light (338)
Met-Ed (1,015)
PECO (2,448)
Penelec (1,138)
Penn Power (54)
PPL (4,268)
West Penn Power (521)

For comparison, the change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply at each large utility from late December 2018 to late January 2019 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) was:

Duquesne Light [no change as reported]
Met-Ed (1,154)
PECO (2,210)
Penelec (847)
Penn Power (161)
PPL (5,198)
West Penn Power (824)
