National Grid Default Service Rates Falling 20-25% For Residential, Commercial Customers
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
National Grid has filed with the Massachusetts DPU new basic service rates for residential and commercial customers for the six-month period beginning May 1, 2019, and for industrial customers, for the three-month period beginning May 1, 2019
Taking into account pending changes to the Basic Service Administrative Cost Adjustment Factors (BSACFs) and Smart Grid Customer Cost Adjustment Factor (SGCCFs) which are to also take effect on May 1, the new National Grid residential fixed default service rate would fall 21% to 10.820¢/kWh effective May 1, from the current 13.718¢/kWh
Taking into account pending changes to the Basic Service Administrative Cost Adjustment Factors (BSACFs) and Smart Grid Customer Cost Adjustment Factor (SGCCFs) which are to also take effect on May 1, the new National Grid commercial fixed default service rate would fall 26% to 9.668¢/kWh effective May 1, from the current 13.166¢/kWh
National Grid filed the new basic service rates reflecting the impact of the simultaneously proposed updates to the BSACFs and SGCCFs only for the fixed basic service rates
Additionally, National Grid filed the "base" basic service rates, on a fixed and monthly basis, without the impact of either the BSACFs and SGCCFs adders (as noted below)
National Grid in its filing included redacted copies of basic service supply agreements with, NextEra Energy Marketing, LLC, DTE Energy Trading, Inc., and Exelon Generation Company, LLC
