Reliant Offering Texas Customers Community Solar Retail Electric Supply Plan

Reliant is offering Texas residential customers in the Oncor and CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric service areas a new plan that offers community solar as a retail electricity supply plan

Reliant's Local Solar plan includes a monthly membership fee, plus an energy charge and TDU charges, and provides access to power from two Texas solar farms, Eddy II near Dallas-Fort Worth and Bovine near Houston. Texas solar power is used to supplement customer usage if needed.

The Local Solar plan, which is a fixed rate product, is offered in terms of 12, 24, 36, and 60 months

In the CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric service area, Reliant's Local Solar 12 plan is a 12-month fixed rate with an average all-in rate of 14.4 cents per kWh at 1,000 kWh usage, reflecting a monthly membership fee of $12 per billing cycle, an energy charge of 8.9888¢ per kWh, and CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric TDU charges of $5.47 per billing cycle and 3.6876¢ per kWh. There is no early termination fee

Generally, the monthly membership fee is fixed across product term lengths (and service areas), with the energy charge decreasing as the term length increases for the Local Solar plans of various term lengths (the energy charge also varies by service areas, as do the TDU charges)

Capacity for the Reliant Local Solar plan is limited
