The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com

The Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council (NOPEC) has released new pricing for its natural gas opt-out municipal aggregations in Ohio

NOPEC's natural gas aggregations are supplied by NextEra Energy Services ("Supplier")

For NOPEC residential and small commercial natural gas choice customers (using less than 500 Mcf per year) in NOPEC member communities served by Dominion Energy Ohio (DEO) for the period beginning on or about the customer’s June 2019 meter read date and continuing until the January 2020 meter read date, pricing will be as follows:

Option 1 (DEO): The initial price for three months will be $3.25 per Mcf from the June 2019 meter read date until the September 2019 meter read date. After that, the price may change from month to month but not more than once in a 30 day period for the remaining term of the contract, with the price published on NOPEC’s website at least 30 days prior to its effective date. Supplier and NOPEC will determine the new variable rate based on the following factors: competitor’s prices, applicable industry charges, wholesale market conditions and natural gas supply sources. Option 1 is the default option

Option 2 (DEO): The customer can also choose a monthly variable price option. Under this option, the price will be $0.02/Mcf less than the monthly utility Standard Choice Offer. The Option 2 monthly variable price plan is limited in availability to 3.5% of NOPEC customers in the Dominion Energy Ohio service territory.

For NOPEC residential and small commercial natural gas choice customers (using less than 500 Mcf per year) in NOPEC member communities served by Columbia Gas of Ohio (COH), and for the City of Athens, which is a member of the Southeast Ohio Public Energy Council (SOPEC), which itself is a NOPEC member, pricing will be as follows for the term starting with the June 2019 meter read date and continuing until the January 2020 meter read date.

Option 1 (COH): The initial price for three months will be $0.3990 per Ccf from the June 2019 meter read date until the September 2019 meter read date.

Option 2 (COH): The customer can also choose a monthly variable price option. Under this option, the price will be $0.002/Ccf less than the monthly utility Standard Choice Offer. The Option 2 monthly variable price plan is limited in availability to 3.5% of NOPEC customers in the Columbia Gas of Ohio, Inc. service territory.
