During the National Energy Marketers Association's 22nd Annual National Energy Restructuring Conference, Dan Mumford, Director, Office of Competitive Market Oversight, at the Pennsylvania PUC said that the current thinking at the PUC is that the days of having a single long list of all supplier offers presented to customers on PA Power Switch as the default are probably done for

Mumford said that the PUC will likely have to go to a "silo" approach, with separate webpages or lists for separate types of products, e.g. a separate page for renewable products, a separate page for Time of Use products, a separate page for variable products, etc.

"The days of having just one big long page of every type of product listed on that -- those days are numbered and we are already migrating to more of a silo-ed approach," said Mumford

Mumford said that presenting retail supply offers enabled by smart meters and TOU pricing continues to be an issue facing the PA Power Switch site

Mumford also discussed with NEM attendees various issues that had been exclusively first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com

Mumford noted the PUC's open investigation of potential changes to default service procurement policies and cost assignment & allocation policies (pricing) as a result of AMI-enabled data, including the potential to move away from a "plain vanilla" default service, as had been exclusively first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com (see story here)

Mumford also cited the PUC's recently opened proceeding to address the issue of Customer Assistance Program customer shopping, and restrictions on such customer shopping, which had been exclusively first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com (see story here)

Mumford also recounted various enforcement actions recently undertaken by the PUC, including settlements and fines, which have been covered exclusively by EnergyChoiceMatters.com over the past year
