Cryptocurrency, Blockchain-Focused Texas Retail Provider Receives Authority To Collect Customer Deposits And Advance Payments

The Public Utility Commission of Texas granted GridPlus Texas Inc. an amendment to its retail electric provider certificate to authorize the company to have the option of collecting deposits or advance payments from customers.
As previously reported, blockchain-focused GridPlus recently launched a beta, and its business model ultimately envisions (see story here) peer-to-peer sales and a prepay model, though it has not yet filed to offer prepay service using a customer prepayment device or system (CPDS), and has previously said peer-to-peer sales are not in the near term
