Ameren Small Commercial Electric Supply Rate Falling 13%
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
Ameren has filed with the Illinois Commerce Commission new Retail Purchased Electricity Charges (electric supply rates) for the period beginning June 1, 2019
The Retail Purchased Electricity Charges are the largest component of the Price to Compare (PTC). The PTC also includes the Supply Cost Adjustments and a bypassable transmission rate. A bypassable Purchased Electricity Adjustment is not included in the PTC.
For residential customers, due to tiered, usage-based pricing applicable in the non-summer (current period) versus a flat summer rate, an apples to apples comparison of Ameren's new supply rate versus the current rate is not applicable
The June 1, 2019 filed Ameren residential (BGS-1) Retail Purchased Electricity Charge is 3.329¢ per kWh for the summer period.
The June 1, 2019 filed Ameren BGS-2 Retail Purchased Electricity Charge, for secondary voltage, is 3.992¢ per kWh for the summer period, about 13% lower than the current charge
Ameren's complete new Retail Purchased Electricity Charges and current Supply Cost Adjustments are available here. Note that non-summer rates are indicative and subject to change based on a potential fall IPA procurement event
