Utility Files To Decrease Residential Purchase Of Receivables (POR) Discount Rate
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
Potomac Edison has filed with the Maryland PSC proposed new POR discount rates to be effective June 1, 2019
The residential POR discount would decrease from the current 0.4643% discount to 0.2124%
Potomac Edison's proposed new POR discount rates are as follows:
Zero discount rates reflect the zeroing-out of negative discount rates which would otherwise result from the POR calculations, consistent with PSC precedent
In calculating the updated POR discounts, Potomac Edison stated, "The Company has not had programming
costs related to the purchase of receivables since 2014. Therefore, for administrative ease, the
Company proposes to reflect the small programming cost reconciliation in the uncollectibles
reconciliation and to eliminate future programming cost reconciliation calculations until new
programming costs are incurred related to the purchase of receivables."
Rates remain subject to PSC approval.
