Monthly Net Loss In Pennsylvania Residential Shopping Again Approaches 10,000 Customers

PPL Sees Large Spike In Net Residential Migration Decline

After March saw a slowing in the net loss of residential electric customers on competitive supply in Pennsylvania, April saw the monthly net decline in residential electric shoppers once again approach 10,000 customers, according to the latest stats from the Pennsylvania PUC

From late March to late April (reporting date varies slightly by utility), Pennsylvania saw the aggregate number of residential customers on competitive supply decline by 9,400 accounts, versus the net loss of 6,000 accounts from late February to late March

The net loss of 9,400 residential shoppers during April is in-line with the monthly decreases seen since the fall of 2018, which have generally been in he 8,000 to 10,000 (give or take), apart from the improved 6,000 customer decline in March.

PPL saw a net decline of nearly 3,500 residential electric shoppers from late March to late April. For comparison, PPL had seen a much improved net loss of only 900 residential shopped accounts from late February to late March

All of the seven large EDCs once again saw a net decline in residential migration from late March to late April

The change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply at each large utility from late March 2019 to late April 2019 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) was:
