The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com

"The immediate cessation by Verde Energy of all of its
retail electric and gas marketing and customer enrollment in the State of Ohio
reflects Verde Energy’s commitment to complying with the Ohio Administrative
Code and to working with the PUCO Staff and the OCC in this matter to develop a
comprehensive agreement that will put in place terms and measures that Verde
Energy must comply with in order to restart its marketing activities in Ohio, and
that will protect Ohio consumers of electricity and gas, subject to the Commission’s
review of any proposed stipulation reflecting those terms and measures," Verde said in a filing
Verde Energy’s voluntary cessation of all marketing activities and customer
enrollment in Ohio will continue for a period of 30 days from the filing of a motion on May 3, or until such time as the parties arrive at a stipulation, whichever occurs earlier.
In a statement to EnergyChoiceMatters.com, Verde Energy said that, "Verde Energy can confirm that the parties are currently engaged in active settlement negotiations to resolve the issues raised by PUCO Staff in their letter filed in this matter on April 17, 2019. Beyond that, Verde Energy has no further comment."
Separately, PALMco Energy OH, LLC d/b/a Indra Energy and PALMco Power OH, LLC d/b/a Indra Energy (collectively, Indra), which is also subject to a PUCO investigation proceeding, said in a filing that, "Indra has suspended all direct-marketing to residential customers in the State of Ohio."
See our prior story here for specific allegations against Indra that are being investigated under the proceeding
"No new variable
contracts have been entered since this investigation began. While nothing currently prevents
Indra from resuming direct-marketing, Indra recognizes that under the current circumstances,
and during the pendency of the investigation, resuming direct-marketing would not be a good
idea. Indra does not intend to sell variable rate products to Ohio residential customers until this
investigation is resolved," Indra said
