As first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com on April 17, several electric industry veterans, including Chris Hendrix, are launching a new Texas retail electric provider, called Demand Control 2, LLC

As previously reported, Demand Control 2, LLC has filed for an Option 2 Texas retail electric provider certificate to serve customers one megawatt or more of capacity who provide an affidavit agreeing to such service.

Demand Control 2 states that it, "intends to transform the way companies purchase energy by enabling them access to the wholesale energy markets (either by creating a self-supply group managed by DC2 or transparent wholesale access), which provides their business with more control and engagement to lower costs, manage owned generation, reduce energy risk, and provide access to renewable energy."

Chris Hendrix serves as CEO of Demand Control 2, LLC. Hendrix previously directed Walmart’s competitive electricity operations for all of the United States and the United Kingdom, including creation of a self-supply retail provider. Prior to directing Walmart’s competitive electricity operations, Hendrix served as Manager, Retail Pricing at TXU

Shannon K. McClendon serves as President of Demand Control 2, LLC. McClendon is an attorney who was instrumental in the first successful transition to competition plan for an IOU in Texas. McClendon has served as a Director on the ERCOT Board and has also represented various Texas market participants

Jim Galvin serves as COO of Demand Control 2, LLC. Galvin previously served as Director, Market Operations at ERCOT, and has held other roles at ERCOT as well as the California ISO. Galvin has also previously served as Director, Customer Support & Settlements at Tenaska Power Services, and Director, ISO & Power Settlements at Luminant Energy
