Arizona Chairman: ACC Needs To Hear Retail Energy Success Stories For Choice To Be Adopted
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
During a town hall at DNV GL's Energy Executive Forum, Arizona Corporation Commission Chairman Bob Burns said that regulators in Arizona need to hear retail energy success stories for electric choice to move forward.
Burns noted the 2013 push for retail choice in Arizona that failed due to lobbying and spending by the utilities which turned public opinion against choice.
With a new commission, "I think there's at least a chance that we can move forward, but what we need from you is interaction with the people that make the decision," Burns said
"We need to hear the success stories, each Commissioner needs to hear that," Burns said
Burns noted that the utilities are in his office at least once a month, sometimes three times a month
"We need you guys to tip the scales, and talk to our Commissioners, all five. We need to hear the good, the positives that are happening in retail and customer choice," Burns said
