Michigan PSC Sets Capacity Charge Applicable To Shopping Customers

In an order on an Upper Peninsula Power Co. rate case settlement, the Michigan PSC established the State Reliability Mechanism (SRM) capacity charge at the utility

Under the adopted settlement, UPPCO’s current State Reliability Mechanism (SRM) capacity charge as established by the Commission in its November 30, 2017 order in Case No. U-18254 shall remain in effect.

The November 30, 2017 order had set the SRM capacity charge at Upper Peninsula Power Co. (UPPCO) as $90,810/megawatt-year, or $249/megawatt-day, which will remain in effect
