Pennsylvania Sees Nearly Another 10,000 Residential Customers Leave Competitive Retail Electric Supply During August

Pennsylvania saw the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply decline by almost 9,000 customers from late July 2019 to late August 2019

From late July 2019 to late August 2019 (reporting date varies slightly by utility), Pennsylvania saw the statewide aggregate number of residential customers on competitive supply decrease by 8,957 accounts. A comparison to the month-ago loss is not available because stats for the months of May and June 2019 were not posted on PA Power Switch

All of the seven large EDCs saw a decline in the number of residential customers on competitive supply during August 2019

The change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply at each large EDCs from late July 2019 to late August 2019 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) was:

PECO                (2,497)
Penelec               (989)
Penn Power            (284)
PPL                 (1,837)
West Penn Power     (1,118)
