New York Sees Uptick In ESCO Initial Complaints In July, But Total Still Third-Lowest Total For Past 13 Months

The total Initial Complaints filed against ESCOs in New York for the month of July 2019 were 117, per a New York Department of Public Service report

That's higher than the 79 Initial Complaints filed against ESCOs during June 2019, which, as exclusively reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, had been the lowest number of Initial Complaints against ESCOs in eight years

The 117 Initial Complaints against ESCOs in July 2019 were still the third-lowest total since July 2018 (following 79 in June 2019 and 104 in November 2018). The number of Initial Complaints against ESCOs in July 2018 had been 118

Total Escalated Complaints against ESCOs for July 2019 were 21, versus 16 in June 2019, and 13 in July 2018

Total Consumer Reports of Deceptive Marketing Practices against ESCOs for July 2019 were 19, versus 24 in June 2019, and 20 in July 2018
