SJI Energy Advisors, a subsidiary of SJI (South Jersey Industries) has acquired retail energy consultant Applied Energy Partners.

Established in 2004, the Malvern, Pennsylvania-based consultant provides energy efficiency and procurement services for industrial and institutional businesses throughout the United States.

"We are thrilled to welcome Applied Energy Partners into the SJI family," said Rick Gallagher, Vice President, Sales and Business Development, SJI.

"The acquisition complements our decision to exit the retail supply business and expand our growing SJI Energy Advisors business -- where we can leverage our expertise in understanding and supporting relationships between customers and suppliers," said Gallagher

Formed in January, SJI Energy Advisors assists commercial, industrial and institutional organizations with the procurement of electricity and natural gas, as well as solutions to meet their energy efficiency and sustainability needs.
