Massachusetts Mass Market Default Service Rate To Increase 22%

Fitchburg Gas and Electric Light Company d/b/a Unitil has filed with the Massachusetts DPU electric basic service rates for the period beginning December 1, 2019.

All rates listed in this include the current Basic Service Costs Adder of $0.00381/kWh, effective December 1, 2018. The Basic Service Costs Adder will likely change prior to implementation of the new default service rates, resulting in the rates listed below changing.

As filed, the fixed basic service charge for residential customers (RD-1, RD-2) and Small General (GD-1) commercial customers is $0.12134 for the period December 2019 to May 2020. That's about 22% higher than the current rate of $0.09980/kWh

Additional rates are below; the rates remain subject to DPU approval.
