Regulator Will Continue REC Add-On Program For Default Service, Other Customers

The Connecticut PURA has ruled that the current Connecticut Clean Energy Options REC add-on programs, under which default service and other customers may purchase RECs without changing their supplier, shall be extended to the later of 1) the date the Authority approves a successor program or 2) December 30, 2020
PURA ruled that the Connecticut Clean Energy Options shall be extended with all present suppliers at the same rate and terms, to the later of 1) the date the Authority approves a successor program or 2) December 30, 2020.
PURA had earlier extended the current program to the earlier of 1) the date the Authority approves a successor program, or 2) December 30, 2019.
A replacement for the Clean Energy Options has been under consideration for several years.
