Consumer Financial Information Website Expands To Retail Energy Brokering

Finance Guru, a start-up which operates a website offering consumer guides for various financial services, will also offer a retail energy supply comparison service on its site.

Finance Guru offers guides for loans, banking, credit cards and insurance.

The company recently received an Illinois electric agent, broker, and consultant license and has registered as a Texas broker.

Finance Guru has applied for Pennsylvania electric and natural gas broker/marketer licenses to serve all sizes of residential and commercial customers in all service areas

In its Pennsylvania electric broker application, the company said, "Finance Guru will provide an on-line platform where customers can choose the best energy supplier based on price and other factors. The customer will then sign up for services with the energy supplier through the energy supplier's API."

"Finance Guru will also subcontract with independent sales offices ('ISOs') that will provide face to face sales services to acquire new customers for its energy supplier partners. ISOs will be equipped with tablets that contain Finance Guru's website and will guide consumers through the various partner energy supplier offerings," the company stated in its application

John Zavoyna serves as CEO of Finance Guru. Zavoyna serve as COO of Credico, an affiliate of Finance Guru, which is an international direct sales company

Zavoyna previously served as President and CEO of Dell Financial Services and has led several fin-tech companies

An application filed by Finance Guru with the ICC in July included as an attachment the resume of Seyi Fabode, the founder of retail energy comparison site Power2Switch, though the application did not list Fabode's role at Finance Guru, if any
