The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com

The Massachusetts DPU has released a procedural schedule in a docket considering the opt-out electric municipal aggregation plan filed by the City of Boston, MA, and the schedule extends though late January 2020

While such a timeframe is not uncommon for the DPU's consideration of aggregation plans, given when the city initially filed (late June 2019), the city had been seeking approval of its plan by August 31, 2019 or another date that would allow for a January 1, 2020 start date (see prior story here)

The city had said that a January 1, 2020 start would minimize any impact on basic service rates, since January 1, 2020 is the start of a new basic service pricing period and start date for a portion of new SOS contracts.

As exclusively first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, the state's Attorney General has sought discovery in the proceeding

Specifically, the DPU set the following procedural schedule:

• December 2, 2019: Deadline to serve information requests

• January 6, 2020: Final comments due

• January 21, 2020: Final reply comments due
