Corpus Christi, Texas Raises Franchise Fee, AEP Texas Raising Rate Charged To Retail Electric Providers

AEP Texas issued a market notice informing retail electric providers that AEP Texas received notice of the approval of Ordinance No. 031889 by the City of Corpus Christi, TX on October 1, 2019 to increase the total franchise fee by $0.0001208 per kWh to each retail customer whose consuming facility’s point of delivery is located within the corporate limits of the City of Corpus Christi.

Specifically, the new franchise fee factor is $0.0025378 per kWh, versus the prior $0.002417 per kWh

The increase will become effective with Cycle 01 bills rendered on or after Tuesday, December 31, 2019.

The increase will be presented as a separate line item on the 810 transaction as 'Municipal Franchise Adjustment' on the SAC04 Code ADJ006. It is only effective for accounts located inside the City limits of Corpus Christi, TX located in the AEP Texas Central Division.
