Baker Hughes Selects Retail Supplier For Wind, Solar Solution
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
EDF Energy Services, LLC, was selected by Baker Hughes to provide a wind and solar electricity supply solution which combines offtake from the Texas-based White Mesa Wind project, owned and developed by Apex Clean Energy, with the Talitha Solar project, owned and developed by 7X Energy.
"This will provide Baker
Hughes with more reliable energy delivery compared to taking the offtake solely from either a wind-only or
solar-only asset," EDF Energy Services said
EDF Energy Services also said that the new agreement makes Baker Hughes' Texas operations 100% renewable.
"We are excited to offer a renewable energy product that provides Baker Hughes with green power at an
attractive price all within a traditional retail electricity contract," said Mary Anne Brelinsky, President of EDF Energy Services
"EDF Energy Services recently launched their retail renewable product offering that provides a smaller
slice of renewable power wrapped into the customer’s traditional retail contract," the company said
EDF Energy Services manages
2,800 MW of wind and solar generation, which includes eleven sites owned by EDF Renewables.
The White Mesa Wind and Talitha Solar projects are expected to come online in 2021.
