ESCO Complaints In New York Decline For Third Consecutive Month

The number of initial complaints received by the New York DPS against ESCOs declined for the third consecutive month in November 2019, according to a DPS report
For November 2019, initial complaints received against ESCOs were a total of 95, versus 117 in October 2019, 140 in September 2019, and 143 in August 2019
The November 2019 total of 95 is the second-lowest number of initial complaints against ESCOs in the past 12 months (the lowest was 79 in June 2019)
For November 2019, the number of escalated complaints received against ESCOs declined to 8 -- a 12-month low. The number of escalated complaints received against ESCOs in October 2019 had been 22
For November 2019, the number of consumer reports of deceptive marketing practices by ESCOs declined to 14 -- which is also a 12-month low. The number of escalated complaints received against ESCOs in October 2019 had been 21
