Texas PUC Approves Updated Interim Broker Registration Form
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
The Texas PUC approved on an interim basis an updated electricity broker registration form, as filed by Staff
As previously reported, Staff said that the updated interim form is consistent with the proposed broker regulation rule in Project No. 49794 (which remains pending at the Commission)
The new interim broker registration form includes four fields in which a broker may enter trade names
The updated interim broker registration does not require the broker to disclose, on the registration form, any affiliate relationship with a retail electric provider. The broker rulemaking proposal for publication would require a broker to disclose, to customers, the registered name of any REP that is an affiliate of the broker, but the proposal would not require such disclosure as part of the registration form filed with the PUC. Certain stakeholders have proposed that the Commission require such REP affiliate disclosure in the registration process as well
The new interim registration form should be accessed from the PUC site once posted.
