During today's open meeting, Texas PUC Chair DeAnn Walker was asked about door-to-door marketing by retail electric providers

Walker noted that while the PUC itself has not issued any orders regarding such behavior, she said that for the health of employees, contractors and the public, REPs "should stop" door to door marketing, particularly while any local or otherwise applicable shelter in place orders are in effect

Walker noted that the PUC could take action through an order if it becomes necessary or is a problem. "I think it all should cease [in the current environment], but it's not written up in an order right now," Walker said

Walker noted that several REPs have ceased door to door marketing

Commissioner Arthur D'Andrea also noted that REPs conducting such activity in the current environment will probably be met by customer consternation, and such marketing would be counter-productive
