The Maine PUC has directed competitive electricity providers, including retail suppliers and brokers, to submit information on any ongoing door-to-door marketing activity.
"Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Maine Public Utilities Commission (Commission) is seeking information regarding any ongoing door-to-door electricity supply marketing activities in Maine," the PUC said
Accordingly, the Commission directed all competitive electricity providers (CEPs) licensed to provide service to residential and small commercial customers in Maine to submit the following information:
1. An indication of whether the CEP or its agent(s) is or is not currently engaging in door-to-door marketing;
2. The number of individuals conducting such door-to-door marketing and the company that employs each individual;
3. The locations within the State that such marketing is occurring; and
4. The CEP’s plans to suspend or modify its door-to-door marketing activities in Maine in response to the pandemic.
