The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com

The Maryland PSC granted Breakerbox, LLC, a unit of Exelon, an electricity broker/aggregator license to serve commercial and industrial customers in all service areas

As previously reported, the Commission had held consideration of the Breakerbox application due to the "uncharacteristic" recent lack of responsiveness from affiliated retail suppliers (Constellation and other brands) to PSC Staff inquiries concerning customer complaints against such affiliated retail suppliers. As previously reported, a spokesperson for Exelon Generation previously told EnergyChoiceMatters that the non-responsiveness was due to an internal technical error and that, having addressed the error, Constellation began working diligently with the consumer affairs division to resolve the complaints

At a PSC meeting this week, counsels for each of Breakerbox and Constellation each discussed the PSC's concerns and each company's complaint handling procedures and compliance programs. Such discussion and the previously remedial actions noted above addressed the PSC's concerns and Breakerbox was granted a license
