MISO Capacity Price For Ameren Illinois Zone Jumps 67%

The Midcontinent ISO has released pricing from its capacity auction for the 2020-21 delivery year

Prices were as follows for notable zones ($/MW-day)

Zone 4 (Ameren Illinois)             $5.00
Zone 7 (Michigan: DTE, Consumers)  $257.53
Zone 2 (Michigan Upper Peninsula)    $5.00
Zone 3 (MidAmerican Illinois)        $5.00
Zone 9 (Entergy Texas)               $6.88

For Zone 4 (Ameren Illinois), the 2020-21 price of $5.00/MW-day is a 67% increase from the 2019-20 price of $2.99/MW-day

For 2020-21, MISO noted that Zone 7 (DTE, Consumers) cleared at Cost of New Entry of $257.53/MW-day, with MISO citing insufficient zonal capacity to meet Zone 7 Local Clearing Requirement (LCR)

For comparison, the 2019-20 Zone 7 price had been $24.30/MW-day
