BGE Residential SOS Rate Increasing 13% On October 1, Small Commercial Also Increasing

Baltimore Gas & Electric has filed new SOS electricity generation rates for residential and Type I customers for the period Oct. 1, 2020 to May 31, 2021, as well as new Type II SOS rates for the three-month period beginning June 1, 2020

BGE's filing also includes an update to the SOS Admin. charge (a component of the bypassable "Total Generation Rate"), effective June 1, 2020, affecting the previously approved summer 2020 small customer SOS rates, as well as the new rates effective October 1, 2020

BGE further said that it expects to file an update to its bypassable transmission rate later this month, to be effective in July 2020. The bypassable transmission rate is part of the total SOS rate, but does not impact the "Total Generation Rate" information listed in this story

For Schedule R residential customers, BGE's Total Generation Rate for Oct. 1, 2020 to May 31, 2021 will be 6.234 cents per kWh, an increase of 13% from the summer 2020 rate of 5.505 cents per kWh (reflects change in SOS admin. charge)

For Scheds. G/GU Type I SOS customers, BGE's Total Generation Rate for Oct. 1, 2020 to May 31, 2021 will be 5.754 cents per kWh, an increase of 4% from the summer 2020 rate of 5.538 cents per kWh (reflects change in SOS admin. charge)
