Electricity Veteran Shannon McClendon Elected To ERCOT TAC In Independent REP Segment

Electricity veteran and attorney Shannon McClendon was elected as a member to the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) at the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT)

McClendon was elected to be one of the ERCOT-wide representatives for the independent retail electric providers (REPs) on TAC.

McClendon is President of Demand Control 2, LLC, an Option 2 Texas retail electric provider, co-founded with CEO Chris Hendrix and Chief Risk Officer Anoush Farhangi.

TAC is comprised of seven stakeholder groups, and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding ERCOT policies and procedures, and is responsible for prioritizing projects through the protocol revision request, system change request, and guide revision processes.

In particular, I look forward to working with my three colleagues in the REP segment Bill Barnes with Reliant Energy Retail Services, Eric Blakey with Just Energy Texas, and Sandy Morris with Direct Energy. Assisting TAC and ERCOT to ensure efficient operations and navigate market issues during these trying and unprecedented times COVID-19 has brought upon us. I have no doubt, under the leadership of TAC Chair Bob Helton with Engie North America, TAC will continue to meet its goals and missions despite the heartaches of the novel corona virus," McClendon said

McClendon previously served on ERCOT’s Board representing residential and small commercial consumers, and served on TAC for six years also representing the residential and small commercial consumers, being Vice Chair for one of those years.
