The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
Several ESCOs applied at the New York PSC for a waiver and/or declaratory ruling to permit the companies to offer certain green gas products as Energy-Related Value Added products to mass-market natural gas customers
As previously reported, for natural gas, ESCOs under the reset order are limited to providing mass market customers with a guaranteed savings (versus the utility) plan, or a fixed rate product that is limited in price to a 12-month trailing average utility supply rate plus a 5% premium. The compliance deadline for such product limits has been extended to August 10, 2020
CenStar Energy Corp., Major Energy Services, LLC, and Spark Energy Gas, LLC petitioned the New York PSC to offer a "RGGI Gas" Product and a "Cleaner Gas" Product. The companies noted that the proposed products, "are very similar but not quite
identical to those being proposed by Direct Energy Services[.]" (see prior story on the products proposed by Direct Energy)
See specifics on the products proposed by Spark Energy et al. here
Separately, Atlantic Energy, LLC filed for a waiver to offer a green gas product. Details were filed under seal
