Optimum Power Investments, LLC, which is currently licensed as an Ohio competitive retail electric service provider as a power marketer (retail supplier) has applied for an amended Ohio license to add aggregator and power broker to the certificate
As in its prior license filing, Optimum Power Investments (OPI) maintains that, "OPI was formed with the goal of becoming a
competitive energy supplier within PJM and more specifically in the state of Ohio. OPI intends
to offer competitive fixed and variable products to commercial and residential customers with a
focus on offering multi-family dwelling property owners a wide variety of technology and
energy-related solutions."
However, the company has now additionally stated in an Ohio license amendment that, "OPI intends to also offer aggregation services so that multiple retail
customers can join together and leverage their aggregate electricity needs for purposes of
negotiating and buying electricity under more favorable terms and conditions. Additionally, OPI
intends to offer broker services to retail customers for contracting for the sale of and/or arranging
the supply of electricity to the customer without taking title to the electricity supplied."
