PSNH Small Customer Default Service Rate To Fall 15%

Winning Default Service Suppliers Disclosed

Public Service Company of New Hampshire d/b/a Eversource Energy has filed new electricity default service (energy service) rates for the six-month period beginning August 1, 2020.

For the Small Customer class, the new all-in fixed PSNH electric default service rate is 7.068¢/kWh, to be in effect August 1, 2020 through January 31, 2021. This is 15% lower than the current rate of 8.306¢/kWh

The Small Customer class includes Rates R, R-OTOD, G, G-OTOD, and any outdoor lighting associated with those rates billed under Rates EOL and OL)

PSNH has newly added a working capital adjustment to default service rates for all classes. For the Small Customer class, the working capital adjustment is -0.0100¢/kWh

All rates in this story reflect the total energy service (default service) rate, including the Base Rate, Reconciliation Adjustment, Renewable Portfolio Standard adder, RPS reconciliation, Administrative & General adder, and the new Working Capital adjustment

For the Large Customer class, PSNH's monthly default service rates are as follows, in $ per kWh:

September 2020   $0.06040
October 2020     $0.06135
November 2020    $0.07177
December 2020    $0.08175
January 2021     $0.09267

The Large Customer class includes Rates GV, LG, B, and any outdoor area lighting taken in conjunction with these rates billed under Rate OL

All rates remain subject to PUC approval

In an RFP, the winning suppliers for small customer default service load were Consolidated Edison Energy, Inc. and NextEra Energy Marketing, LLC (each won 50% of the load for the six-month period starting August 1, 2020). The winning supplier for the entirety of large customer default service load for the six-month period was H.Q. Energy Services (U.S.) Inc.
