Schneider Electric and Huck Capital, described as, "an investment firm committed to transforming the century-old utility model," announced a partnership to create a new company that will deliver energy-as-a-service to commercial and industrial buildings.

Inclusive Capital Partners' Spring Fund is the lead investor supporting the partnership

The new company will deliver energy-as-a-service to owners & operators of commercial and industrial buildings in North America by developing and operating on site microgrids up to 5MWp

"This partnership combines Schneider's industry leading energy management and microgrid expertise with Huck's sustainability-focused investment and operational focus. The partnership creates an innovative alternative for building owners and operators who want to transition to renewable energy to lower emissions, increase resiliency, and reduce costs, without investing in renewable energy assets and relying on specialists to operate the microgrid," the companies said

"Customers get cost-effective, resilient and sustainable energy with no upfront capital expenses or operational risks," the companies said

Emmanuel Lagarrigue, Chief Innovation Officer for Schneider Electric said, "Renewable energy, generated by buildings is no longer only accessible by a select few with in-house energy expertise and the capital to invest. This partnership will make decarbonized, on-site generated energy simple and accessible to a much bigger market".

Huck Capital's current operational focus was described as being on, "behind-the-meter solutions."

Jose Lorenzo will serve as the new company's CEO

Schneider Electric said that it will announce the commercialization of the new offer in the coming weeks
