Rochester, NY Formally Rolling Out Opt-out Municipal Aggregation

The City of Rochester announced that it will launch an opt-out municipal aggregation for electricity

The aggregation, branded Rochester Community Power, is "intended to provide their residents and small businesses with locally-sourced 100% renewable energy at a low, fixed rate."

The City has 80,000 Rochester Gas & Electric (RG&E) utility account holders. Rochester is described as the largest city in the state to date to launch a municipal aggregation program

The City has selected Joule Assets (Joule) to serve as program administrator.
