Residential, Small Commercial Default Service Rates To Increase 17-20% At Massachusetts Utility

NSTAR Electric Company d/b/a Eversource Energy filed with the Massachusetts DPU new basic service rates for its Western Massachusetts service territory (WMA), formerly WMECO, for the period beginning January 1, 2021

All rates listed below include Basic Service Adders, Renewable Portfolio Standard, Alternative Energy Portfolio Standard, Clean Energy Standard, and Clean Peak Standard Adders

The filed new fixed residential default service rate of 10.795¢/kWh for January through June 2021 is about 20% higher than the current rate of 9.020¢/kWh.

The filed new fixed small C&I basic service rate of 10.067¢/kWh for January through June 2021 is about 17% higher than the current rate of 8.619¢/kWh.

Exelon Generation Company, LLC was selected to serve a portion of commercial group default service load for the period January 1, 2021 to June 30, 2021, and July 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021

HQ Energy Services (U.S.) Inc. was selected to serve industrial default service load for the period January 1, 2021 to March 31, 2021
