Texas PUC Staff Propose New Interest Rates Applicable To Deposits Held By REPs, Overcharges

Staff of the Texas PUC have proposed new interest rates to be applicable to REP deposits and over-billings, consistent with the calculations set forth by rule, calculated pursuant to the process set forth in the PUC's rules

The interest rate, for calendar-year 2021, on deposits held by REPs is proposed to be set at 0.61 percent. The rate currently in effect is 2.21 percent.

The interest rate, for calendar-year 2021, for overbillings and certain underbillings by a REP is proposed to be set at 0.82 percent. The rate currently in effect is 2.35 percent
