PUC Schedules Workshop For Review Of Rules Governing Green Electricity Supply Programs Of Retail Suppliers, Utilities

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio has scheduled for January 6, 2021 a remote workshop in its review of the green pricing program standards in Ohio Adm.Code Chapter 4901:1-42 (Case 20-1195-EL-ORD)

Under Chapter 4901:1-42, "green pricing program" means, "a program in which an Ohio electric distribution utility or CRES provider that offers an electric product in which the product is marketed based on its fuel source and/or emissions profile. Such programs may include the use of renewable energy credits."

Among other things, the rules require that, "Any Ohio EDU or CRES providers offering a green pricing program shall ensure that any program or marketing materials distributed to customers accurately portray the product," and includes requirements thereunder

The new review is being undertaken pursuant to the state requirement to review rules every five years

The remote workshop is to inform the drafting of a Staff proposal concerning any potential rule changes or re-adoption
