New EVP, CFO Named For Retail Energy Supplier Segment

Southern Company Gas has named David Poroch as executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Southern Company Gas is Southern Company's segment which houses, among other businesses, its competitive retail energy suppliers including SouthStar Energy Services, Georgia Natural Gas, and various other brands.

Poroch will oversee the finance, accounting, business planning and risk management functions for all Southern Company Gas's distribution, wholesale, and retail businesses.

Poroch has held various positions at Southern Company since joining the company in 2012, including vice president and chief audit executive for Southern Company Services, and executive vice president and CFO at Georgia Power. Before joining Southern Company, Poroch was a partner with Deloitte & Touche LLP

Poroch succeeds Dan Tucker, who will take on the role of executive vice president, CFO and treasurer at Southern Company Gas's sister business, Georgia Power. The change will be effective Jan. 1, 2021.
