The Public Utility Commission of Texas today announced that executive director John Paul Urban, III has resigned.

The process for selection of Urban’s replacement will be discussed at the Commission’s next open meeting on December 17.

"I am grateful to JP for his devoted service to this Commission, the great state of Texas and to me," said PUCT Chairman DeAnn Walker. "He will be dearly missed. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors."

After first serving on Commission staff as Legislative Director from 2011 to 2014, Urban returned to the agency as Executive Director in 2018.
