Reliant Launches New Texas Product Offering Two Highest Days Of Usage Free Per Week (Auto-selected Floating Days)

Also Adds Free Upgrade To Solar For Its Free Days; Nights; Weekends Plans

Reliant launched a new plan (Reliant Truly Free Flex Days) for Texas residential electric customers that will provide to customers their two highest usage days per each weekly period for free (8 free days per month), with the selection occurring automatically based on usage, instead of the customer having to pick their free days

Reliant said, "This plan appeals to customers who often have fluctuating schedules and do not want to think about when they use electricity the most, such as professionals working from home, shift workers and stay-at-home parents."

The customer's monthly bill will reflect their highest 2 days of usage per full week (Sunday through Saturday), up to 8 days per monthly billing period, at no charge for every billing period of 28 days or more. A week is defined as Sunday to Saturday, and a day is defined as a 24-hour period beginning at midnight through 11:59 p.m. For each monthly billing period less than 28 days, the bill will reflect the following:

• 1-3 billing days = 0 Free Flex days

• 4-6 billing days = 1 Free Flex day

• 7-13 billing days = 2 Free Flex days

• 14-20 billing days = 4 Free Flex days

• 21-27 billing days = 6 Free Flex days

• 28+ billing days = 8 Free Flex days

Reliant Truly Free Flex Days is an indexed product, offered with a fixed energy charge. In the CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric service area, the Reliant Truly Free Flex Days 12 plan is a 12-month indexed plan with an average all-in rate, at 1,000 kWh usage, of 14.8¢ cents per kWh. The average price calculation is based on usage profile over 12 months, with 32% of consumption occurring during the 2 highest usage days per week (Sunday through Saturday), up to a total of 8 days per billing period. Pricing components include a fixed energy charge of 16.8018¢ per kWh, TDSP Monthly Charges of $4.39 per month and TDSP Delivery Charges of 4.2723¢ per kWh. The energy charge and the volumetric TDSP Delivery Charges do not apply on the free days. A $150 early termination fee applies

For the new Truly Free Flex Days plan, as well as Reliant's existing free nights and free weekends plans, Reliant is also offering customers the ability to add 100% solar power at no additional charge. Specifically, customers in these plans may elect Reliant's "Make It Solar" upgrade, which normally has a $6.99 monthly fee. Under the upgrade, for each month, 100% of electricity usage will be matched with Texas and national solar renewable energy certificates. The customer will see this program listed on the monthly bill as a $0 line item.
