ERCOT Schedules Workshop To Review Potential Changes To Annual Requirement For Retail Electric Providers To Answer Survey On Demand Response
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
ERCOT will host a workshop on January 19, 2021 to discuss possible changes to Protocol 3.10.7.2.2, Annual Demand Response Report, and to the Other Binding Document titled "Demand Response Data Definitions and Technical Specifications", which could be in effect for the 2021 Annual Demand Response Survey Process.
"Based on the experience gained from the 2020 Survey, ERCOT has identified changes that may be helpful for the 2021 process," ERCOT said in a market notice
Currently, Retail Electric Providers (REPs) in competitive regions of ERCOT are ranked in descending order by their average daily consumption for summer (June – September) weekdays excluding holidays. The largest REPs that account for 95% of the total are required to participate in the demand response survey for the subsequent calendar year. For purposes of assigning this participation requirement, REPs determined by ERCOT to be associated shall have their consumption aggregated prior to the ranking.
By October 15 of the survey year, the REPs required to participate in that year’s survey shall compile the required data concerning their customers' participation in various demand response offerings, in the format specified by the Other Binding Document titled "Demand Response Data Definitions and Technical Specifications", and submit the data to ERCOT.
The workshop agenda will be to review ERCOT's proposals and to open the floor to input from Market Participants.
The workshop will be held as a Webex and is listed on the ERCOT 2021 Meeting Calendar.
