New York ESCO Returning Some Customers To Default Service
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
Clearview Energy is exiting the New York natural gas market and will no longer serve natural gas customers
Clearview Energy is returning its natural gas customers in New York to default service, to take effect no later than February 12, 2021
In a communication to customers, Clearview Energy stated, "We are growing our electricity business in New York and have several exciting new plans rolling out in 2021."
Clearview Energy will continue to offer a 100% renewable electricity plan to New York mass market customers
Several other ESCOs, which have informed the PSC that they will no longer serve mass market customers, are expected to engage in similar returns of customers to utility supply (or otherwise dispose of their small customers), to the extent such drops have not already occurred, due to previously reported new product limitations for mass market service in New York
