Company Names James Steffes As Senior Vice President

Utility Washington Gas has named James Steffes as Senior Vice President, Regulatory
In this role, Steffes is responsible for establishing, communicating and executing on the company’s multi-state government relations and regulatory priorities across Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
Most recently, Steffes was the head of Direct Energy’s North American Corporate Affairs group responsible for all policy, market development, political engagement, media and communications as well as community affairs.
Before Direct Energy, he was CEO of Circular Energy, a start-up bringing together solar development and installation with retail energy solutions.
Steffes has also worked at NRG Energy, where he was both the President of the Northeast Retail region as well as the President of Green Mountain Energy.
